General History of Car

This was my demonstrator and plow for one of my dealerships when it was new, later I gave it to my mother for plowing her drive at the farm. A few years ago got it back and restored the vehicle. Removed the plow, replaced the front bumper and restored the body. All rust was removed at that time and replaced with metal. The speedo had frozen up while at the farm but had very few miles on it since it was only used around the farm. I replaced with a new one when I restored it. Since then I have put about 7000 miles on it and believe there is no more than 16000 total miles. It is original and in our family since new. None of our children want to keep it now so it is time to sell.

Vehicle Description

The FJ40 was the most memorable of the Landcruisers and became a great off road rig that was modified but literally hundreds of people over the years. Being far more reliable than many of its competitors it became a classic early on. This particular one is a true one family car and maintained by Toyota dealers over its life span. You probably will not find a more original one anywhere, especially in this condition. Only the tires are changed from the original spec’s but they are mounted on the original wheels. Has the original factory installed roll bar and jump seats in rear.

Body
  • Paint: I had the small rust areas which were typical for these vehicles removed and entire vehicle repainted the original green color with white top panel about 15 years ago. As you can see by the pictures it is still in good shape but on the left side some small surface rust is reappearing. Really minor but you might want to sand and repaint area. Also along the top panel drip rail could use some touch up.
  • Rust: No major areas, frame fine. I undercoated a few years back and it is in good shape.
  • Damage/Collision: None
  • Trim: Fine
Interior
  • Seats: New factory covers when I redid body 7000 miles ago. Two jump seats in rear.
  • Carpet: None
  • Floor Mats: Fine
  • Dash Board: Fine
